Edward Jenner Programme - Leadership Academy

Whether you’re new to health and care or an aspiring leader at the start of your journey, you’re the perfect candidate for the Edward Jenner programme – the foundation of great leaders. It’s free, flexible and enlightening. And with open access, there’s nothing to stop you going for it today.

The programme has been re-designed to offer even more flexibility with two units to complete at your own pace. Launch takes up to five hours. Foundations is designed to be studied over six weeks.

Leadership and Management Apprenticeships

L3 Team Leader / Supervisor

This training is for team leaders/supervisors with a first line management role in private, public or third sector organisations. They will have operational/project responsibilities or responsibilities for managing a team. Their key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

Typical Job Roles: Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer

This is a 15 month programme requiring 1 day a month at college with the remaining 80% of the time applying the learning in the work place. On completion of the programme you will gain a CMI Level 3 in first line management.

L4 Associate Project Manager Higher Apprenticeship

The associate project manager higher apprenticeship programme provides the knowledge and skills to understand and apply project management methods, think critically and use tools and techniques to support successful project delivery.

The programme develops:

  • Practical Skills
  • Relevant understanding of finance, people and resource management, quality and risk management.

This is a 24 month programme requiring 1 day a month at college with the remaining 80% of the time applying the learning in the work place.

L5 Diploma in Management and Leadership

An operations/departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. Specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations Manager, Matron, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and specialist managers.

This is a 24 month programme requiring 1 day a month at college with the remaining 80% of the time applying the learning in the work place. On completion of the programme you will gain a CMI Level 5 management.

L6 Chartered Manager Degree Programme

The programme is appropriate for existing, new and developing managers who already have relevant work experience. The programme is designed to enhance the employee’s effectiveness as managers and to progress their careers through self-development and reflection, underpinned by research-informed study of how organisations and their employees can be managed in changing environments, alongside achieving the requirements of the Standard. The programme aims to develop the employees’ capacity for integrated and critical awareness of organisations and their environments and to analyse and address workplace problems. It is designed to help them think with clarity and act with confidence and conviction.

This is a 36 month programme requiring 1 day a month at college with the remaining 80% of the time applying the learning in the work place.
