Health information

Now more than ever we need information we can trust. Health Information Week is taking place 3-9 July #HIW2023.

HIW is a multisector campaign promoting high quality information for patients and the public. This year the themes are: Health Literacy (Mon), Mental Health & Wellbeing (Tues), Women's health (Wed), Social Prescribing (Thurs), Children's Health (Fri), Cost of Living (Sat), and Shared Decision Making (Sun) – follow us @bhtnhslibrary.

Health literacy training

You can try the Health Literacy e-learning module on eLearning for Healthcare https://portal.e-lfh.org.uk/Component/Details/600363

The Health Literacy session gives a brief overview of why health literacy is important and an introduction to some techniques that can improve health literacy.

In addition to the e-learning module, the library service can provide bite-sized sessions.

You can join our Health Literacy Awareness Session on 16th October 2024 for an hour introducing health literacy.

To book onto these sessions, you can book via iAspire e-Learning. Alternatively, you can phone 01494 734681 or email bht.clinicallibrarians@nhs.net or learning.development@nhs.net

If you cannot attend these sessions, the Library team can also offer sessions on request – please email bht.clinicallibrarians@nhs.net to arrange.

Virtual book club

The Library is hosting a virtual book club every two months. For more information, or to register your interest, see our blogwebpage or email us. Many of our reads are available on BorrowBox, our wellbeing resource focusing on self-help and reading.
