Research: Planning your research project

What evidence already exists? Has someone already answered your research question?

Library staff can help you to identify and obtain existing relevant research and evidence by:

• Teaching you how to plan and carry out a literature review. Come along to one of our training sessions, or book a 1:1 with your clinical outreach librarian.
• Performing a detailed literature search for you. This will be conducted according to the literature searching protocols, guide for NHS researchers developed by South Central Healthcare librarians.
• Helping you to access articles or books that you need for your research project. This includes requesting articles or books from other libraries if they are not already in the Trust library collection.

The library has a number of books to help write your research proposal.
