Computer accessYou can use the computers in the library for e-learning, study and other work-related purposes.
Access to the computers is on a first come, first served basis
Library inductionsLibrary staff are usually available at corporate inductions and also the junior doctor and student nurse inductions.
We also offer presentations about the library service to teams which you can request via the clinical outreach librarians
Opening hoursWe are staffed Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Outside of these times, you can access the library with your Trust ID badge
Out of hours accessYou can access the library 24/7 with your Trust ID badge.
We have a self-issue machine so you can borrow books outside of staffed hours.
Overseas staff support
PhotocopyingIt costs 5p per sheet to use the photocopier in the library. Or you can bring your own paper and use the photocopier free of charge.
Renew a bookYou can renew books borrowed from Stoke Mandeville Library twice.
Renewals can be made using the library catalogue. Or you contact the library in person, by phone or email.
To renew interlibrary loans, you will need to contact the library
Scanning facilitiesThe library photocopier/printer includes the option to scan documents to be sent to your NHS email address.
Self-issue servicesYou can use the self-issue machine to borrow, return and renew your library books.

Services to staff at Wycombe, Amersham and community sitesYou can access all of the library services even if you not based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Books can be posted to you and all other services are delivered online or via email
Many of our resources are available online which you can access with an NHS Open Athens account.
Our clinical outreach librarians can also visit your workplace for training etc.
